Yellowjackets Is Ending β And The Final Season Release Date Just Dropped ππ
The cult-hit survival horror drama is wrapping up its wild ride this November β and we're absolutely NOT ready to say goodbye to the most unhinged show on TV.
Yellowjackets Is Ending β And The Final Season Release Date Just Dropped ππ
The wilderness is calling one last time, people β and honestly? We're not okay.
Paramount+ just announced that Yellowjackets Season 4 will drop on November 20, and it's officially the FINAL season. Yes, really. The cult-hit psychological horror drama that's had us screaming at our screens for three seasons is saying goodbye, and fans are already spiraling.
The Tea β
- Yellowjackets Season 4 premieres Friday, November 20 on Paramount+ with the premium plan
- It's the fourth and final season of the Emmy-nominated series
- The official description promises "an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own" (!!!!)
- Season 3 was the most-watched season to date, with the finale breaking viewership records
What We Know About The Final Chapter
According to Deadline, the final season description reads: "As the survivors race to bury their sins before rescue arrives and an old flame roars back into town with plans of her own, turns out not every homecoming is a joyous one, and this one's going to sting."
STING is right. We are absolutely not emotionally prepared for whatever chaos the showrunners have planned.
The show β which follows a high school girls' soccer team that survives a plane crash in the remote wilderness and descends into full savage mode, plus their messy lives 25 years later β has kept us guessing since day one. And now we're finally getting answers about what happened out there in the woods.
The Dream Team Returns
The final season brings back the full cast, including Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie NΓ©lisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, and two-time Oscar winner Hilary Swank, who joined in Season 3.
Variety reports that the show has been a massive hit with both critics and audiences. Season 3 didn't just do well β it absolutely crushed it, becoming the most-watched season in the show's history.
And Then It Got Worse
The series has racked up 10 Emmy nominations total, including back-to-back nods for best drama and Lynskey for best actress. The show's creators, Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, are staying in the Paramount family with a new overall deal, so at least we'll get more twisted brilliance from them down the line.
But still. Saying goodbye to Yellowjackets hits different. This show gave us cannibal queen drama, wilderness survival horror, and the most intense female friendships (and betrayals) on television.
The fact that rescue is finally coming in Season 4 means we're about to find out what really went down before they got saved β and how they managed to keep those secrets buried for nearly 25 years. The body count? The rituals? The extremely questionable protein sources? All of it is about to come to light.
The Internet Had THOUGHTS
Fans have been waiting for this announcement since Season 3 wrapped, and now that we know it's the end, the emotions are running HIGH. Social media is already flooded with theories about who makes it out alive, what secrets get exposed, and which relationships will implode before the finale.
One thing's for sure: this is going to be a messy ending. The kind of finale that has everyone texting their group chats in ALL CAPS the second the credits roll.
Mark your calendars for November 20, stock up on snacks (maybe skip the venison?), and prepare for the wildest TV finale of the year. This homecoming is definitely going to sting β and we wouldn't have it any other way.
