Tyson Fury Just Called Anthony Joshua A "Coward" And The Biggest Fight In British Boxing Is FALLING APART πŸ₯ŠπŸ’°

The heavyweight showdown everyone's been waiting for is in serious doubt after Fury went OFF on social media β€” and his rant about AJ and Eddie Hearn is absolutely brutal. November at MSG? Maybe not happening.

Stop everything, because the boxing match of the decade might have just imploded in the messiest way possible.

Tyson Fury has taken to Instagram to absolutely BLAST Anthony Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn, claiming the long-awaited heavyweight showdown "doesn't look like it's going to happen" β€” and the reason? Money. Yes, really.

According to BBC Sport, Fury posted a series of Instagram stories calling Joshua and Hearn "disgusting" and "money-thirsty" after they allegedly asked Saudi organiser Turki Alalshikh for MORE cash to move the fight from the UK to Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Tea β˜•

  • Fury and Joshua were supposed to fight in November β€” potentially one of the biggest nights in British boxing history
  • The original contract said UK, but Saudi organisers want Madison Square Garden so Netflix can cater to American audiences
  • Joshua's team asked for extra compensation because of US tax implications (he'd make less money fighting in America)
  • Fury is NOT having it and called them "little cowards" in an expletive-filled rant

"Keep Running You Cowards"

The Gypsy King did NOT hold back. Sky Sports reports Fury said: "It doesn't look like they are going to sign the fight and it doesn't look like it is going to happen all because Eddie Hearn and that want more money."

He continued: "They have already had that much money off Turki over the last few years Eddie and AJ, they have had boxing deals, they have had darts deals, they have had snooker deals, they have had everything. And yet, they have got the audacity and cheek of flea-bitten rats to ask for more money."

FLEA-BITTEN RATS. We are not okay. 😭

In further posts, Fury called Hearn a "bag carrier" and told Joshua: "I'll move on and fight somebody else but just know you never had the guts to fight Tyson Fury, ever, you little coward."

Eddie Hearn Claps Back

But wait β€” there's another side to this story. Eddie Hearn told IFL TV that Joshua HAS signed the contract and the issue is purely logistical, according to BBC Sport.

"In layman's terms, by staging the fight in America, Anthony Joshua receives less money than he would do if the fight was in the UK where he was contractually agreed," Hearn explained.

He sent a list of changes to Sela (the Saudi organisers) covering the compensation issue plus practical matters like travel, accreditation, and media arrangements β€” all approved by Joshua and his lawyer.

Hearn also defended the importance of keeping the fight in Britain: "It's about British boxing. It's about amateur boxing clubs. It's about kids watching the biggest fight in boxing in our country."

He pointed out that Joshua won Olympic gold at London 2012 and has basically changed the face of British boxing forever. Fair point, Eddie.

The Madison Square Garden Drama

Here's where it gets complicated: both Joshua and Fury have separate contracts with Saudi-backed Sela. The fight was supposed to broadcast on Netflix, and New York's Madison Square Garden is apparently Sela's preference so American audiences can watch at a reasonable hour.

But the arrival of Dana White's Zuffa Boxing (jointly owned by Sela and TKO Group Holdings) has stirred the pot even further. Hearn claims TKO and Zuffa have been pushing hard to convince Sela "this fight is massive in America."

Fury, meanwhile, seems totally fine with White's involvement: "White wants to be involved, he can come on my side. Get in, Dana. You want to make the fight, you can come on my side."

Will It Actually Happen?

Sky Sports confirms that Sky Sports understands Joshua HAS signed a contract and Matchroom are still working towards an announcement β€” so maybe there's hope?

But Fury's manager Spencer Brown admitted he's getting concerned about the delays. "Everybody's got a bit of doubt in their mind," he said. "If you'd asked me a week ago, I'd have said no, but now it's a little bit concerning that things haven't progressed down the line."

Matchroom Boxing CEO Frank Smith said it's a "critical week" for negotiations and that "the next seven to 10 days, a lot of progress has got to be made" to make a November date work.

The History

This isn't the first time Fury vs Joshua has fallen apart. The two were unable to agree terms back in 2021, and those plans collapsed after a US judge ruled Fury had to face Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight instead.

Now, five years later, we're STILL waiting for what would genuinely be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history β€” two of the sport's biggest crossover stars, both household names, finally settling it in the ring.

And it might not happen. Again. Because of money and location drama.

The boxing world is holding its breath right now, and honestly? We're emotionally exhausted.

So β€” Team Fury or Team AJ? Do you think the fight will actually happen, or is this just posturing? Sound off below. πŸ‘‡
