Stop scrolling: LeBron James is officially a Philadelphia 76er on the court, and his first outing in the new threads did not go to script. Yes, really.

According to BBC Sport, the 41-year-old made his debut in a pre-season clash with the Brooklyn Nets, and Philly fell 114-108.

The Tea ☕

  • LeBron debuted for the 76ers in pre-season and they lost to the Nets, 114-108.
  • He put up 10 points, four rebounds, five assists and a steal in just 18 first-half minutes.
  • His verdict: it's "going to take some time" for the new squad to gel.

The Numbers (Not Bad For A Warm-Up)

LeBron only played the first half, but he still racked up 10 points, four boards, five dimes and a steal, per BBC Sport. Not a bad night's work for a pre-season cameo.

The 76ers lineup he shared the floor with is stacked. BBC Sport lists Joel Embiid, VJ Edgecombe, Tyrese Maxey and Jaylen Brown alongside him, and it was Brown who led the scoring with 18 points.

We repeat: that is a LOT of star power on one team sheet.

"It's Going To Take Some Time"

LeBron was relaxed about the loss afterwards. "We're still trying to put each other in the position to be successful and complement each other the best way we can on the floor," he said, as quoted by BBC Sport. "But it's going to take some time."

He also called the night "a good sample size for us to build on." Translation: nobody is panicking over a pre-season result, and honestly, they shouldn't.

The Bigger Picture

This is a Big Deal career-wise. BBC Sport reports that LeBron joined Philly in July on what he says will be his final NBA contract, after eight years with the Lakers.

He's also entering a record-extending 24th NBA season as the league's all-time leading scorer, and has been an All-Star for 22 seasons running. We are NOT okay with how long this man has been dominating.

Oh, and the stakes? He's chasing a title with a franchise that hasn't won one in 43 years. Per BBC Sport, he has won a championship with every team he's played for: two with the Miami Heat, one with the Cavaliers and one with the Lakers. Fans will absolutely be doing that maths on a loop.

So, Should Philly Fans Worry?

It's pre-season, so the result means roughly nothing. The real story is the experiment: a 41-year-old legend, a loaded roster and a title drought all colliding in one season.

Can the 76ers become the fourth team LeBron wins with, or is this chapter going to be a slow burn?

Which side are you on: is LeBron's Philly move a title-winning masterstroke, or a roster that needs more than "some time"? Sound off below.
