Leah Remini Is Joining Real Housewives of Beverly Hills β And The Scientology Tea Is COMING πβ
The King of Queens star and anti-Scientology crusader just confirmed she's getting a diamond for RHOBH Season 16 β and honestly? This casting is absolutely EVERYTHING.
Stop everything, because Bravo just dropped the casting news of the YEAR. Leah Remini is officially joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for Season 16 β and we are SCREAMING. π
The King of Queens star confirmed the news on Instagram Wednesday after Variety and Deadline broke the story. "It's true!!" she wrote, and yes, Leah β we are NOT okay!
This is the marquee name fans have been BEGGING for, and Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen is clearly serving us exactly what we need.
The Tea β
- Leah Remini, 56, is joining RHOBH Season 16 as a full-time cast member
- She's teaming up with returning stars Kyle Richards, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Bozoma Saint John, Rachel Zoe and Sutton Stracke
- Tracy Tutor from Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles is also joining as a newbie
- Amanda Frances β the manifesting guru added last season β was NOT asked back
- Filming has already started, and Leah will join production in LA this week
This Has Been A Long Time Coming
According to Variety, the casting comes just weeks after Remini signed with talent agency WME to expand her brand across TV, movies and podcasting. And honestly? A Housewife era is the PERFECT next chapter.
Before the official announcement, TV personality Justin Sylvester teased Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea" podcast that a big name would be joining, saying the "name would blow everybody's heads." Mission accomplished, Justin!
When Andy Cohen commented on Tracy Tutor's announcement post last week, he wrote, "This has been a long time coming!" β and fans have been saying the exact same thing about Leah for YEARS.
She's No Stranger To Reality TV
While Leah is best known for her nine-season run as Carrie Heffernan on King of Queens, she's dabbled in unscripted before. According to Page Six, she starred in her own TLC reality show, Leah Remini: It's All Relative, from 2014 to 2015, which followed her family life with ex-husband Angelo PagΓ‘n (they split in 2024) and their daughter Sofia Bella, now 22.
But her BIGGEST reality moment? The Emmy-winning docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, which aired on A&E from 2016 to 2019. The show β where Leah and fellow ex-Scientologist Mike Rinder interviewed former church members β won TWO primetime Emmys and cemented her status as an anti-cult crusader.
(Also, can we talk about how Leah has been asking "Where is Shelly?" since 2006, wondering about the whereabouts of Shelly Miscavige, wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige? ICONIC.)
What She's Walking Into
Season 16 is already filming, and according to Variety, several cast members attended Bozoma Saint John's wedding in Ghana on Aug. 21 β but Leah and Tracy weren't there yet.
The current cast is DIVIDED, to put it mildly. Season 15 wrapped in May with a fiery three-part reunion where the tension between former besties Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley absolutely boiled over. And Dorit's divorce from PK Kemsley has been making headlines all summer, with both accusing each other of financial chaos while their kids are stuck in the middle. YIKES.
Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly are also returning as "friends" of the cast, so the drama levels are going to be at an all-time high.
The Fans Have Spoken
RHOBH is the most-watched edition of the entire Real Housewives franchise (which just turned 20 this year!). But it's also the most complained about, with fans constantly calling for cast shake-ups.
As Andy Cohen sarcastically told Variety in June: "They hate it so much, it's the No. 1 'Housewives.'"
Well, Andy β you've officially given the people what they want. With EIGHT full-time cast members and two veteran friends, this season is about to be absolutely STACKED.
And Then It Got Better
Oh, and did we mention that Amanda Frances β who only lasted one season despite Rihanna DMing her "We need more of you!" β announced her own departure on Aug. 5? According to Variety, she wrote on Instagram: "Grateful for the experience... But I came into this experience with an already-full life. And right now, that life is asking for all of me."
Translation: The diamond life wasn't for her. But Leah Remini? She was BORN for this.
Between her no-BS attitude, her history of calling out powerful institutions, and her proven reality TV chops, Leah is about to bring a whole new energy to Beverly Hills. And we are absolutely here for every single second of it.
