Jennifer Coolidge Is Returning To 'The Watcher' As Karen — Yes, THAT Karen — And The Pastel Power Suits Are Coming Back

Stop scrolling, because the realtor who sold the Brannocks their cursed dream home is officially coming back. Jennifer Coolidge is returning to The Watcher Season 2, and honestly? We needed this.

Coolidge is reprising her role as real estate agent Karen Calhoun, per Variety, Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter.
Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Margo Martindale and Isabel Gravitt are all back too.
Season 2 is heading into production in New York this fall, nearly four years after the first season.

Yes, She's THAT Kind Of Karen

The Hollywood Reporter was not shy about it, describing Karen Calhoun as "that kind of Karen" in its write-up. We respect the honesty.

In Season 1, Coolidge played the ambitious, brassy agent who sold Nora and Dean Brannock (Watts and Cannavale) the suburban house that quickly turned into a nightmare. Deadline notes she did it in pastel-colored power suits, which we are 100% hoping return.

Quick Refresher: The Watcher

The Netflix series, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, is loosely based on a true story of a family who buy a new home and start getting mysterious letters from someone calling themselves "The Watcher," according to Variety. It's based on the New York Magazine article "The Haunting of a Dream House" by Reeves Wiedeman.

It was also a huge hit. Variety reports it logged 125 million hours viewed in its first week, climbing to 148 million in week two, and spent five weeks on Netflix's global English-language TV top 10.

Deadline adds that Season 1 ended with the Brannocks moving to a New York apartment, only for Dean and Nora to find themselves pulled back to the house. Chilling. Very much "do NOT go back in there."

Basically the whole gang is back, and the nosy neighbor is on the guest list. The ominous-letters energy is going to be immaculate.

Why Now?

Per Variety, Coolidge won the first of her two Emmys for The White Lotus shortly before The Watcher originally premiered. Since then she's popped up in A Minecraft Movie, and Deadline says she's also in the sequel, A Minecraft Movie Squared, plus the Rebel Wilson-directed Girl Group. The woman is BUSY, and still made time for a haunted house.

We don't know yet what Season 2's story looks like or when it'll land on Netflix, and none of the outlets have said. We'll update you when we know more.

Karen Calhoun is back, the letters are (presumably) coming, and the Brannocks are walking right back into the lion's den. Will Karen finally get her comeuppance, or will she somehow sell them ANOTHER house?
