Stop everything, because Harry Styles just reminded us why exes can totally stay friendly β€” and why we're obsessed with this particular ex situation.

The "As It Was" singer is currently in the middle of a massive 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden (yes, really, 30 shows). And during Saturday night's performance, Harry casually shouted out the OTHER iconic event that happened at MSG this summer: his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce.

The crowd? ABSOLUTELY UNHINGED.

What He Actually Said

According to TMZ, Harry was doing his usual end-of-show banter when he said: "We're at Madison Square Garden, home of the world champion New York Knicks!"

And then β€” wait for it β€” he added with perfect timing: "And they also do weddings."

SCREAMING. The audience went absolutely wild at even the not-so-subtle reference to Taylor's July 3 nuptials to NFL star Travis Kelce, which took place at the very same venue. Variety reports that you can hear the crowd lose their minds in fan-recorded videos.

We are NOT okay. 😭

The Tea β˜•

  • Harry and Taylor dated briefly from November 2012 to January 2013
  • Many fans believe Taylor's 2014 mega-hit "Style" was written about their relationship (the title is literally... right there)
  • Harry was invited to Taylor and Travis's wedding but couldn't attend because he was on the London leg of his tour
  • His fiancΓ©e ZoΓ« Kravitz DID attend the Swift-Kelce wedding though
  • This Saturday shout-out proves there's zero bad blood between the exes

The Haylor History

For anyone who needs a refresher: Haylor (Harry + Taylor, obviously) was one of THE defining celebrity couples of the early 2010s. They dated for a few months, broke up, and then proceeded to write what fans believe are songs about each other for YEARS.

Taylor gave us "Style," "Out of the Woods," and possibly others from her 1989 album. Harry responded with tracks like "Two Ghosts" from his 2017 debut, which includes the lyric: "Same lips red, same eyes blue / Same white shirt, couple more tattoos."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harry even performed "Two Ghosts" during his Wembley Stadium show on July 3 β€” the EXACT night Taylor was getting married across the pond. Cheeky king.

But Wait, It Gets Better

This isn't the first time Harry has paid tribute to something Taylor-adjacent during his MSG residency. On opening night Wednesday, he honored the late Dolly Parton by performing her 1974 classic "I Will Always Love You" β€” and if you remember, Dolly collaborated with Taylor on the "Cowboy Carter" era.

The man knows how to work a room and keep the Swifties happy, we'll give him that.

Why We're Obsessed

Honestly? This is how you do friendly exes. No drama, no shade, just a playful acknowledgment that yes, they dated over a decade ago, and yes, she just married someone else at the venue where he's currently performing 30 consecutive shows.

The confidence! The humor! The casual "they also do weddings" energy!

Harry's fiancΓ©e ZoΓ« attended Taylor's wedding (she and Taylor are friends), which just proves that everyone in this situation is mature, unbothered, and living their best lives. You love to see it.

The Bigger Picture

Harry's 30-night MSG residency is THE hot ticket right now. The "Together, Together" tour is only stopping in the United States for these shows, making them extra special. And clearly, Harry is making the most of it β€” honoring music legends, cracking jokes about his famous exes, and giving fans moments they'll never forget.

Meanwhile, Taylor is off enjoying newlywed life with Travis after their star-studded July wedding, which was officiated by Adam Sandler (yes, THAT Adam Sandler) and attended by everyone from Selena Gomez to Bradley Cooper.

No bad blood here β€” just Harry being Harry, Taylor being Taylor, and all of us living for the respectful, cheeky ex energy.

Team mature breakups for the WIN.

So, what do you think? Are Harry and Taylor the gold standard for friendly exes, or what? Sound off below! πŸ‘‡
