The CW Just Pulled Miss USA And Miss Teen USA From The Schedule DAYS Before They Were Supposed To Air β And Nobody Is Saying Why ππ₯
Less than a week before the pageants were set to air, The CW yanked them both from the schedule β and the vague statements from everyone involved are raising MORE questions than answers. What on earth happened?!
Stop everything, because the pageant world just imploded in the MESSIEST way possible β and we have so many questions. π
The CW has officially pulled Miss USA and Miss Teen USA from its schedule less than a week before they were supposed to air, and the cryptic explanations from both sides are giving us absolutely nothing. These competitions were slated to air on August 26 and 27, contestants were ready, cameras were probably rolling... and then? Poof. Gone.
What We Know (Which Is Basically Nothing)
According to Deadline and Variety, The CW released the blandest statement imaginable: "After careful consideration and conversations with the Miss USA Organization, The CW Network has decided to forego next week's broadcasts of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants."
That's it. That's all we get.
The pageant organization wasn't much more helpful, posting a statement on Instagram Stories that mentioned "a contractual issue with our production arrangements that could not be resolved within the necessary time frame." Translation? Literally no one knows what actually went down, but it was bad enough to scrap the entire thing with days' notice.
The Tea β
- The CW pulled BOTH pageants less than a week before they were scheduled to air on August 26-27
- The network cited "careful consideration" but gave zero actual details about what happened
- Miss USA blamed "contractual issues" that couldn't be fixed in time β but what kind of issues pop up THIS close to air?
- Both competitions will now stream on the Queen Beauty Network instead (yes, really)
This Is Just The Latest Drama
Here's the thing: Miss USA has been an absolute MESS for years now. Variety reports that in 2024, both Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt and Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava resigned from their titles, accusing organizers of abuse and bullying. The pageants didn't even air on TV last year as a result of ownership drama β they streamed online instead.
And just THIS MONTH, the organization dethroned Miss North Carolina USA Brittany Boltinhouse over past conduct, issuing a statement condemning "racism, homophobia and transphobia." She was replaced by the runner-up just weeks before the competition.
So yeah, this latest cancellation? It's giving "the final straw."
A Three-Year Deal... That Keeps Not Happening
The truly wild part? According to Deadline, The CW signed a three-year deal to air these pageants back in April 2024. But they didn't air in 2025 either, and now 2026 is falling apart too. At this point, are we even going to SEE Miss USA on The CW again?
The pageants have changed hands multiple times over the years β previously owned by Donald Trump and WME's IMG β and last year, the Miss Universe Organization (which licenses Miss USA) made a deal with new operator Thom Brodeur, who acquired exclusive rights under a ten-year deal.
Ten years feels... optimistic at this point, honestly.
And Then It Got Worse
The most frustrating part? No one is giving us real answers. The CW says they had "conversations" with the Miss USA Organization. The pageant says there were "contractual issues." But what KIND of issues? Money? Production problems? Creative differences? A scandal we don't know about yet?
The vagueness is absolutely KILLING us, and you know what that means: the speculation is about to be WILD. Twitter is already spiraling with theories, and honestly? We can't blame them.
Both organizations insist they're "grateful for the relationship" and "open to working together in the future," which is the corporate equivalent of "it's not you, it's me" β and we all know what THAT really means. π
The pageants will now stream on the Queen Beauty Network website (the same place they aired last year), which is... fine, we guess? But it's definitely not the major network moment these contestants signed up for.
So what do YOU think happened? Was this a money thing, a production disaster, or something we haven't heard about yet? Sound off below β we need to hear your theories! π
