If you grew up in the late 90s glued to Nickelodeon, you need to sit down for this one. Christy Knowings β€” the hilarious actress who lit up All That for three unforgettable seasons β€” has died at just 46 years old.

And honestly? We are NOT okay. 😭

The Devastating Details

According to TMZ, Christy suffered an asthma attack last Friday that left her with brain damage. She was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital and placed on life support, where she remained through Tuesday.

Her family made the impossible decision to take her off life support on Tuesday night, and she died shortly after.

Page Six reports that her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced the heartbreaking news on Facebook. Her manager Al Hill told Variety, "Christy was a multi-talented lady. Whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating. Always professional and dedicated to her work."

The Tea β˜•

  • Christy joined All That in 1997 and starred for three seasons (1997-2000)
  • She played iconic characters including Penny Lane, Jessica, and her personal favorite Gloria Bankhead
  • She's famous for delivering the catchphrase "Whatever!" alongside Amanda Bynes in the "Whateverrr!!!" sketch
  • This is the SECOND All That cast member to die this year β€” Kianna Underwood was killed in a hit-and-run in January

She Was A 90s Icon

Christy joined the Nickelodeon sketch show in Season 4 alongside Leon Frierson and Danny Tamborelli, crossing over with OG cast members like Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, and Lori Beth Denberg. The show later added Nick Cannon and Gabriel Iglesias to the mix, making it an absolute powerhouse of comedy talent.

In a 2019 interview with Bustle, Christy opened up about her favorite character β€” Gloria Bankhead, an over-the-top Martha Stewart type. "I had never played any character like her!" she said. "I just remember being on set and being her all-day long. Everybody loved it! The writers, the stage managers… It was fun to just be in character like that, even when the cameras weren't rolling."

The Bronx-born actress also praised the show's diversity: "I'm from the Bronx and Native American Afro-Latina, so I was able to bring so much to the table."

Her Legacy Lives On

After All That, Christy appeared on three episodes of Sesame Street from 2008 to 2011 alongside her twin brother Chris Knowings β€” who remains a regular on the beloved children's show.

She also released a folk music single in 2020 called "To the World," showing she never stopped creating even after stepping back from Hollywood.

Christy was featured on the June/July 2026 cover of Black Beat magazine and would occasionally share photos with All That fans on social media, proving she never forgot the people who grew up loving her work.

Her Co-Stars Are Devastated

Kenan Thompson β€” who starred alongside Christy on All That before his legendary SNL run β€” posted a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook.

"Man this one hit hard!!!," he wrote, according to TMZ. "Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!"

We can't even imagine what her family, friends, and former castmates are going through right now.

Gone Way Too Soon

Christy was discovered on the pilot for a Rosie O'Donnell-produced sketch show called "And Now This" before landing her breakthrough role on All That. She brought joy, laughter, and representation to millions of kids who saw themselves in her.

46 years old is way, way too young. And the fact that this is the second All That cast member we've lost this year? It's absolutely devastating.

Rest in power, Christy. You made our childhoods brighter, and we'll never forget you. πŸ’”
