Charlie Cox Just Hinted The 'Save Daredevil' Army Is Rising Again — And NYCC Fans Were NOT Having The Cancellation News
Charlie Cox teased a "round two" of the Save Daredevil campaign at NYCC after Disney+ confirmed Born Again will end with Season 3. Here's the moment, the cast, and what's actually confirmed.
Stop scrolling, because the "Save Daredevil" campaign may be about to get its sequel — and the man himself is practically winking at it.
Charlie Cox hit New York Comic Con on Oct. 8 to tease the third and final season of Daredevil: Born Again, and the moment everyone is talking about had nothing to do with a trailer. 🔥
The Moment The Room Turned
According to Deadline, the panel's moderator mentioned that the show is wrapping up with Season 3. Cox responded with a very deadpan, joking "Wait, what?" — and the crowd answered with a big round of boos.
Honestly? Same, babe.
Cox then kept the fan service going. Deadline reports he said he imagines the "Save Daredevil" campaign "will be gearing up for round two," adding that the cast doesn't "want to invite the wrath" of the campaign's supporters.
Translation: the Hornhead faithful have been put on notice, and the star is not exactly discouraging them.
Wait, Why Is Everyone So Dramatic About This?
Because we have been here before. Per Deadline, the original "Save Daredevil" fan campaign kicked off in 2018 after Netflix cancelled the series following three seasons.
The show then got a second life last year as Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+, with Cox back as Matt Murdock. Deadline confirmed last month that the revival will end after its third season, which has wrapped and is set to premiere in 2027.
So yes, fans are staring down a second cancellation of the same character. We are NOT okay.
The Season 3 Receipts
There is at least some good news to cling to. Deadline lists the returning cast as:
- Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk
- Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
- Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson
- Wilson Bethel as Bullseye
And here's the juicy bit: Deadline says Season 3 has a confirmed Defenders reunion, with cameos from Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist.
If this is a farewell, it's apparently a farewell with the whole street-level gang in the room.
The Tea ☕
- Charlie Cox joked "Wait, what?" at NYCC when the show's ending was mentioned, and fans booed.
- He said he expects the "Save Daredevil" campaign to gear up for "round two."
- Season 3 is done, due in 2027, and includes a Defenders cameo reunion.
Important reality check: Cox's comments were playful, and nothing in the reporting says the show has been renewed or that a revival is in the works. Right now, Season 3 is still the end of the line.
The Internet Had THOUGHTS
Entertainment Weekly shared video of the booing on X, and the reaction pretty much says it all. Fans are loud, they are organized, and they have already pulled this off once, at least in spirit, by getting the character back on screen after 2018.
Whether that energy can do it twice is the million-dollar question.
So here's ours: should Marvel listen to the "Save Daredevil" crowd one more time, or is Season 3 the perfect place to say goodbye? Sound off below.
